10 Questions That Will Make You Tick: The First Step To Self-Improvement
October 23, 2009 | Leave a Comment
The dream you have in mind can be for real if you work hard for it. Often times, I perceive myself contented with my life with how the things are. But of course, it is difficult to be in the similar state with the serious issues around.
Despite the real issues, I still aim for something meaningful and deeper.
We have had a slice or more of problems. Yet, these predicaments should not stop us from pursuing our dreams. Don’t be ashamed to feed the fire that keeps your dream going. You might have to go back to school to reach your goals, but that should not stop you from getting there. People say that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks or can they?
1. What do I really want? Your wants must have changed through out time. However, there is that one (or two) goal that has surpassed the ages.
Reflect and find something that you are really god at. This would be the beginning point to your self-improvement. Remember, diligence will help you reach your destination.
2. Should I really change? There is nothing permanent in this world but change. If it is for the better, go for it. Fad changes, history even has variety, you are free to change if that is your goal.
We have read, watched and experienced history. We have seen a lot of development and evolution, mostly, in our technology. Before, you have to go through an operator to be able to contact another person. Today, there is no more middle man. Moreover, phone is not the sole medium for long distance communication.
3. What’s the bright side in all of this? With so much is happening around us there seem to be no room for even considering that light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. And if it’s a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!
4. Am I comfortable with what I’m doing? There’s always the easy way and the right way when it comes to deciding what goes with which shoes, or purse, shirt and whatnot. It doesn’t take a genius to see yourself as someone unique, or else we’ll all be equally the same in everything we do. Variety brings in very interesting and exciting questions to be experimented.
5. Have I done enough for myself? Try to check what your hung-ups are. Discontentment is another obstacle in your journey to self-improvement. However, small versions of this “un-satisfaction” gives you an opportunity to fill a hunger that you never thought you could do.
6. Am I happy at where I am today? It’s an unfair question so let it be an answer! You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life!
7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex? So maybe I don’t have an answer to that, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try it, though. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit.
8. How much could I have? Maybe it is not the quantity that we need to attend to in this question. It should be what is underneath it, “How bad do you want this?”. All of us wants to have a 6-digit pay slip but you have to determine how much are willing to give for this goal.
9. What motivates me? What is that one thing that drives you to pursue your goals? Maybe it’s your family or other needs, but definitely there is one, two or three things that motivate you. You have to know what it is in order to constantly feed the fire.
10. What Really Makes You Tick? You can always be that someone that you are aiming to be. Don’t let your thoughts push you down. Try it! Don’t give up unless you have been in the journey. Attaining your goals entails more than physical strength. It will also demand mental, emotional and psychological efforts. Give it your 100%
