Are you planning to adopt a Bichon Frise rescue dog? This is indeed an excellent and noble idea. You will be able to enjoy the love of one of the most loving breeds of dog while at the same time you will be happy that your decision has saved from certain death. There are so many out there looking for a home, looking for someone to rescue them.
The fact is that they do feel bad and have recorded it as a bad experience but not because they are thrown out of their home, but because they miss the love and affection of their initial owners. The Bichon Frise rescue dog is hungry for love more than any comfort.
It is unlikely that their previous owners will have beaten or tortured these dogs, which will indeed leave deep emotional scars. The fact will be that the owner will have found some problem in their home and cannot accommodate the dog any longer.
A Bichon Frise rescue dog will pine for love, affection and an owner. In the shelter it will feel isolated and lonely which is pretty traumatic for these dogs because they particularly love human companionship and close interaction.

Do not admonish it too much when it does something wrong. Pulling it away or saying a brisk and loud no will do. Ensure that everybody in your home touches it and feeds a few tidbits at throughout the day; take the Bichon Frise rescue dog for a walk and exercise it regularly. Some of these lovable dogs hate exercising; in that case offer it a chewable bone or something similar and let it play around you.
Give the dog time sufficient time to understand the rules of your home, while at the same time interact with it constantly. Always have some tidbits with you and reward the dog amply whenever it does anything praiseworthy. Ignore things it does wrong initially and continue to reward the good behavior.
Make all efforts that you get the right dog home from the shelter. Remember, the Bichon Frise rescue dog you are getting home had a home before. If you find it unsuitable and return it to the kennel it will be devastating for the animal. So, try your best to see that the dog you rescued will never find itself in a shelter again. Before you take the dog home take the shelter workers into confidence and identify the dog that suits your home and family best. You will never look back after this experience.
